School Pictures

Sophie's 3-year old Preschool Pictures.

She's a happy girl and loves to go to school. Or "cool" as she says it.
She goes to 2-day half day preschool and 2-day half day Mother's Morning Out, plus 2 speech therapy sessions per week and we're about to start one physical therapy class per week. She's still delayed in speech, but has come a long way and is doing well. She has low muscle tone in her legs and falls down alot, so we evaluated her and we're hoping physical therapy will help with the muscles. We're working hard to get her caught up. She's amazing.

Too Darn Hot

It's too darn hot in Mississippi. And, don't you know I have a child that wants to be outside 24/7.
I'm loosing weight chasing her around outside though. All is well here. Planning a summer full of mommy & me time.

One Year Home

On March 18, we held SOPHIE DAY in celebration of Sophie's one year home. We had a great day. Several of the theatre kids and I went do lunch, then to the museum, then for ice cream and later that night, dinner with family. The year was a great one and seemed to go by so quickly.

Sophie has grown and changed alot. She came home a tiny, malnurished, whisper of a little thing. She has grown and although still petite, she is full of life. A little tomboy who I make wear pink hair bows and such. We are similar in personality. A perfect match God made for us.

Russian Christmas 2010

On January 7th, Sophie and I celebrated Russian Christmas. I was so sick, so I didn't get to do everything I wanted. It was just me, Sophie and my mom celebrating. To the best of my ability and knowledge, I tried to honor this Russian celebration. Sophie and I plan to celebrate Russian Christmas each year.

The traditional table set up:
The white table cloth represents Jesus' swaddling.
The candle symbolizes Jesus as the Light of the World.
The hay symbolizes the poverty of the Manger.
The bread symbolizes the Bread of Life.
The honey & garlic represent the sweetness and bitterness of life.

Me and Sophie about to celebrate Russian style

Sophie in her traditional Russian attire.
It just about doesn't fit her anymore.

Her Russian Christmas gifts:
Russia Barbie
Cheburashka - a popular Russian cartoon character
A Russian to English Talking Dictionary
Grandfather Frost Book - in Russian
Winnie the Pooh book - in Russian
